A Monongalia County group is doing everything to keep a hot spot from coming into their Cheat Lake neighborhood, WBOY reports.

City Manager Dan Boroff says the city has been approached several times about leasing unused land to drill for natural gas and that has some people worried about what that might mean for the environment.

Right now, no zoning laws exist to regulate residential or commercial properties.
